Assisting Adult Persons living with an Intellectual Disability
Welcome to the Northern Cape Mental Health Society
Northern Cape Mental Health Society is a registered non-profit organisation that provides or facilitates comprehensive, pro-active and enabling mental health services in the Northern Cape.
We are committed to challenging socially restricted and discriminatory practices affecting the mental health of all people.
Our work is underpinned by a commitment to quality, excellence and professionalism at all times.
We believe that all people can be empowered to achieve the highest possible level of mental health and quality of life. To achieve this, we work in consultation and in partnership with individuals, the community and relevant stakeholders.
What we do
Programs & Services
We offer various programs and services to not only improve the quality of life for adults living with intellectual and physical disabilities but also to support their families and raise awareness in the community.
Program Yonder
Yonder is a centre for adult persons living with an intellectual disability and who are not capable of competing in the open labour market due to various challenges. The centre offers these adults a safe environment to learn and grow.
Yonder Hartsfees
Once a year we organize and present a National Festival to benefit persons living with an intellectual disability by generating/raising funds to sustain and promote the Yonder project for persons living with an intellectual disability. It is a wonderful opportunity for family fun and the promotion of local talent.
